Hemanth Noothalapati
Hemanth Noothalapati is an Assistant Professor in ‘Raman Center for Medical and Biological Applications’ in Shimane University, Matsue. Born and raised in southern India, he obtained Master’s degree in chemistry from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He then received Taiwan Scholarship from Ministry of Education to pursue PhD in National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), Hsinchu where he studied single cell applications of Raman microscopy. After a year as a postdoctoral fellow in Ultimate Spectroscopy and Imaging Laboratory at NCTU, he moved to Shimane University in 2014. His scientific research is primarily oriented towards developing early diagnostic procedures for cancer and other diseases using Raman spectroscopy. Additionally, his efforts are focused towards internationalization of higher education in Japan, creating a strong network between premier educational and research institutes in India and Japan, enhancing Indo-Japan cultural exchanges. He enjoys running/cycling/swimming during his free time.
