Under the influence of the development of globalization, universities in
Japan are urged to reform the existing institution and practice. One of
their top priority is to develop entrant admission and selection methods
that make it possible to enroll students from abroad. Another important
issue that universities should work on is an advanced method of admission
and selection based on the pluralistic evaluation of various types of abilities
and qualities, e.g. competences and generic skills.
I am currently engaged in studies on qualification systems, policies and
actual situations that are closely related to the above issues, primarily
focusing on those in the U.K from the perspective of comparative education.
Specific research subjects are as follows:
- Admissions and selection through cross-national/sectoral qualifications
framework
- Development of a new admission method using a pluralistic evaluation
approach
- “Academic-vocational divide” in qualification systems
グローバル化の影響を受け、さまざまな側面で大学は改革を迫られており、外国からの志願者の選抜を可能にする方法・枠組みの策定が急務の課題となっている。また、AO
入試などの多元的な評価に基づく入学者選抜が実施されているが、今後はコンピテンスや汎用的スキルなどの多様な能力・資質の評価に基づく入学者選抜方法の開発についても取り組んでいかなければならない。
現在は、イギリスを主なフィールドとして、比較教育学の視点から、これらの課題と密接に関わっている資格制度・政策及び実態に関する研究に取り組んでいる。具体的な研究テーマは次のとおりである。
・国家・分野横断的資格枠組みに基づく入学者選抜に関する研究
・多元的な評価尺度を用いた入学者選抜方法の開発に関する研究
・資格（試験）制度における「アカデミック－職業ディバイド」に関する研究
